I’m Not Dead Yet...

On October 6th I turned 30. And like most 30 year olds I went through a bit of a crisis. In truth I had been going through the crisis for a few months (12 or so) leading up to my 30th.

I was sitting on a subway car wondering what turning 30 really meant and I looked up to see a sign for Joints in Motion. My friend Deb had just left for her second Joints in Motion program (climbing to the base-camp of Everest) and I thought to myself, “Yeah, why not?”

They had 3 programs on display. One was to climb Matchu Pitchu. The second was to go on a run in Dublin. The Third was to run on The Great Wall of China.

Sitting on the subway car as I rode over to work I could actually see myself running on the wall.

I called, signed up, and now I’m raising money for a great cause and I’m training to run a half marathon.

I’m going to be blogging a little, trying to take pictures and video of me training and maybe even vlog a little. But mostly I’m going to try my best to finish a half marathon on the Great Wall of China. I don’t care how long it takes me, I just want to finish.

Just over 1 year ago I had my last of 4 surgeries. In 8 months time I plan to be running on the Great Wall of China. Why not indeed.

What is this all about?
